2022 Year in Review: Wilton Consulting Group

As 2022 draws to a close, our team at Wilton Consulting Group wanted to reflect on some of the interesting projects we had the pleasure of working on this year with some great clients across Canada and the European Union. You can get a more fulsome view of what we’ve been up to on the “Our Work” page. Check out a few of the projects we’re pretty proud of below:

Research & Insights

  • In collaboration with the Canadian Agri-Food Policy Institute, we conducted research to provide insights for the future of Environmental Farm Plan Programming in Canada. Check out the Achieving Balance report, here.

  • We supported the Nova Scotia Federation of Agriculture on a review of the Nova Scotia Environmental Farm Plan Program, and provided recommendations for potential future updates.

  • We’re working with Equestrian Canada and Serecon Inc. on a National Economic Impact Study to identify the economic and social impact of the equestrian sport and recreation sectors, and develop strategic recommendations to ensure the sustainability and inclusivity of the sectors.

Stakeholder Consultation & Engagement

  • We conducted stakeholder engagement for the Canadian Roundtable for Sustainable Beef to support its process for updating its Certified Sustainable Beef Framework.

  • The Fergus Agricultural Society commissioned our team to conduct a community survey to identify strategic opportunities for the Fergus Fall Fair to continue to serve the local agricultural and rural communities.

  • We had the pleasure of supporting the Ontario Soil & Crop Improvement Association with stakeholder engagement to support in the creation of a five-year funding proposal to Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada’s Agricultural Climate Solutions – Living Labs program.

  • Our team has had the pleasure of working with Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada, CESO Internacional and the Directorate-General for Agriculture and Rural Development to facilitate and deliver 2 EU-Canada CETA Agriculture Dialogue Sustainability Workshops. Workshop topics this year included organic production and GHG reduction in livestock production. In early 2023 we will be facilitating a workshop on fertilizer use.
