Updating the Agriculture and Food Action Plan

Client: The City of Kawartha Lakes

The City of Kawartha Lakes was one of the first Ontario municipalities to develop a targeted agriculture and food action plan – focused on strategies aimed at stimulating agricultural development through municipal partnerships and action.

We are pleased to have worked with the City of Kawartha Lakes to update their Agriculture and Food Action Plan. We supported the City by creating an actionable, collaborative strategy to support agriculture and rural development. Our team at Wilton Group worked alongside the City to analyze agriculture and food business retention and expansion data to inform the development of the updated Action Plan. We also assisted in the delivery of a business workshop, as well as a workshop amongst City staff on the opportunities to support the agriculture and food sector.
