We are pleased to have worked with Hastings & Prince Edward Public Health to conduct a regional community food assessment project. Ultimately, this assessment provides actionable recommendations for Public Health to strategically support the regional food system, including food access and security within regional communities, as well as agri-food sector development.

The project engaged over 220 community members throughout Hastings and Prince Edward Counties through a series of community engagement activities including interviews, a workshop, and an online survey. This community engagement was used to inform the final report, which included plain language recommendations that were measurable and actionable.

The final report will help Hastings & Prince Edward Counties determine how to support food security and agri-food sector development in the region. The Project helped Hastings and Prince Edward Public Health to gain a better understanding of how they can support key partners in their efforts to reduce food insecurity and improve the consumption of fresh, local food.

Is your community wondering how to support agri-food sector development and address food security challenges?
